Bitumen paint, mixed media, machine stitchery on mulch mat, 295cm (H) x 95cm (W)
The earth is scoured clean of natural vegetation and levelled to precise elevations. Housing estates appear within the blink of an eye. Flora and fauna (their names recorded within my landscape) are lost under a layer of development. Waterproof surfaces (roofs, concrete, bitumen, etc.) replace nature. The motif of a traditional patchwork house repeated, like a quilt, depicts the new landscape.
